Overview
This privacy policy is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This website processes as little personal data as possible and shows no advertising.
Hosting and server log files
When you visit this website, technically necessary data such as your IP address, the date and time, the page visited, the referrer and your browser type is recorded in server log files. This data is used to run the website securely and is deleted after a short period.
Cloudflare
This website is delivered through the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which makes it faster and more secure. Connection data such as your IP address passes through Cloudflare servers, including servers outside Switzerland. Cloudflare is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies and local storage
If you switch languages, a cookie (“lang”) stores your choice for one year so that you see your preferred language on your next visit. If you choose light or dark mode, this setting is stored in your browser’s local storage. Both stay on your device and can be deleted in your browser settings. The cookies set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are described in the next section.
Web analytics
To understand how this website is used, I use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) or Google LLC (USA), and Microsoft Clarity, a service provided by Microsoft Corporation (USA). They use cookies to collect usage data such as the pages you visit, clicks and scrolling, your device, browser and approximate location. I look at this data only in aggregate and don’t use it to identify you. The data may be processed in the USA; Google and Microsoft are certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Fonts
Fonts are hosted on this website itself. No connection is made to Google or other font providers.
Email inquiries
If you email me, I process your details to respond to your inquiry. I do not share this data without your consent.
Booking a call
To book an intro call, this website links to a Google Calendar booking page, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) or Google LLC (USA). Data is only sent to Google once you follow the link. I use the details you enter when booking, such as your name and email address, only to prepare for and hold the call. Google’s processing is governed by its privacy policy.
This website links to my LinkedIn profile. No LinkedIn plugins are embedded; data is only shared with LinkedIn once you follow the link.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data and to have it corrected or deleted, or its processing restricted. To exercise these rights, email me at the address above. You can also file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority; in Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
